Zakkum Dairy Feed
Elite Group Dairy Cattle Feed
Net: 50kg
Feeding high-yielding dairy cows is a sensitive process that requires special care and attention. During the last 15–20 days before calving, the appetite of pregnant dairy cows decreases significantly. Due to calving stress, these animals lose weight rapidly. As feed intake remains low while milk yield rises quickly, the energy requirements of the cows cannot be met, causing them to lose body condition. Rapid weight loss may lead to metabolic problems such as uterine diseases. In the nutrition of high-yielding cows, feeds must not only have a balanced energy and protein content but also be highly digestible and palatable. If cows are not fed with a balanced ration containing sufficient levels of energy, protein, vitamins, and minerals after calving, estrus will not occur. Cows must have continuous access to high-quality, clean, and fresh water. Providing water only at specific times reduces feed intake and causes rumen acidosis, which in turn results in lameness. Ovarian cysts and uterine diseases increase, and conception rates decline.
Usage
In addition to high-quality roughage rich in energy and protein, it is recommended to use 4–14 kg per day, depending on the animal’s milk yield and body condition. Lactating cows should be fed a mixture of concentrate and roughage throughout the day. If this is not possible, in meal-based feeding, no more than 3–4 kg per meal should be given. If daily feed intake exceeds 8 kg, it is beneficial to increase the number of meals to 3 or 4. For high-yielding lactating cows, feeding should begin 3 weeks before calving. Within 24 hours after calving, they should be ensured to consume 5 kg in total. Feeding with Zakkum Dairy Cattle Feed before calving also improves colostrum quality.
Why Zakkum Dairy Feed?
When combined with quality roughage sources, Zakkum Dairy Cattle Feed meets the nutritional needs of animals. It is formulated with highly palatable raw materials, offering high digestibility and quality protein and energy content. It helps prevent reproductive problems caused by nutritional deficiencies, such as absence of estrus, silent heat, and embryonic mortality after insemination. By supporting the immunity of high-yielding cows, it reduces the incidence of metabolic diseases such as metritis (uterine infection) and mastitis (udder infection).
